Mainstay Fuel Technologies is pleased to announce that Watson Engineering will provide components and fabrication services for it’s proprietary on-board CNG fuel storage and delivery systems for heavy duty commercial vehicles. “Watson’s broad experience with engineered structural solutions and their long-standing ties to transportation OEM’s significantly increases our capabilities to service our fleet customers,”said Rod Grandy, Mainstay’s CEO. He added, “Watson’s manufacturing capacity, combined with our proprietary designs and high pressure expertise, will enable us to scale quickly and meet the growing market demand for CNG-powered trucks.”

With facilities in South Carolina and Michigan, Watson Engineering is a full service sheet and tubular metal fabrication supplier to the automotive, construction, transportation and agricultural industries. The company’s core competencies include laser cutting, turret punching, CNC machining, robotic welding, tube bending, CNC press brake, powder coating, stamping and assemblies that are used in prototype and production applications.

Mainstay Fuel Technologies announced today that it joined the SmartWay Community. Mainstay supports the U.S Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) goals and contributes by providing compressed natural gas fuel delivery systems and components to CNG-powered heavy and medium-duty commercial vehicles, which promote greater energy efficiency and air quality within the freight transport sector.
SmartWay is helping US businesses to slash their fuel costs, saving $16.8 billion dollars to date. These savings support America’s trucking industry and the customers they serve. Truck, trailer and equipment suppliers to the US trucking industry also rely upon SmartWay to help them demonstrate to customers the benefits of cleaner, more fuel-efficient products.
